My new windows and doors

My new windows and doors are installed and I am thrilled, it all looks so wonderful. I am broke now of course, but it is completely worth the scrimping and saving that I will be doing for the next few months.

Lovely new front door

The back of the house.

View from the back bedroom window which I have never seen 'til now

And another

Patio doors from the inside

And from the outside.

What more can I say, I love them and I am very happy. And finally safe from buglers (not that it is a particularly risky location!)

  5. Very posh looking. Love that front door and it looks custom.

Worth it since they are "seen" everyday and make such an impact on energy, security, value, etc.

  6. WOW...WOW...WOW...SO pretty!!! Nice choice! And I am in love with that front door. The back patio doors are crying out for a deck of some sort too. I see all sorts of fun projects for you in the future!

  10. Looks marvellous - good for you! My daughter put in a new double-glazed window in her bedroom and is thrilled by the difference it makes, and you'll be glad you did it come next winter. Warm and secure; what could be better? A sensible use of money.

  13. Well done you! That new look of the windows and doors makes a hell of a difference. And it`s entirely worth the scrimping, I agree!! Lovely views. Your garden looks as if it`s sloped. Would lend itself for terraced veg plots, I think.

  14. Wow wow wow and wow again. They look fantastic and your home now looks like you could rent it out as a holiday cottage should you want to do a holiday swap for free!

Really happy for you and yes it will be worth the scrimping & saving for a while.

Our new windows are nice but not as stunning looking as your new kit! :-)

  17. Lovely jubbley!. Can't beat feeling safe. I love the colour of them. They are the colour we would have chosen given the option. Like the look of your house and garden. Will be interesting growing things on that slope.

  18. Wonderful! Lovely choice of style. Your views are quite nice and I can only image how much light this all brings into the house. Glad to know you're are now safe behind the new doors. I do hope, though, that you watch your step out those patio doors. That's quite a dropoff. Will you be putting up a bit of deck or steps for better access? Your investment on this lot will pay in the long run with lower heating bills and increasing the value of your cottage. Great job!

  20. Thank you for the lovely comments everyone! As some of you noticed, yes there is a rather dangerous drop now from the patoi doors, eventually I will deal with that (and meanwhile just warn guests) I already notice that the house is warmer, makes such a difference to not have those draughty old windows. This morning the spare room was warm for the first time since I moved in. And the sun came out today which made everything perfect!

  21. They look beautiful!!! Last year we put 2 new front windows (120" long each)and a front door with a custom made screen door (because a standard door wouldn't fit)in our house. We need to replace all the other windows as they are drafty and old. It's expensive but it's necessary :)

  24. Having a perfect view while sitting on your backyard - now that’s something. The doors are quite exceptional too. They’re like an entrance to a different world. With that place, you’ll always feel like you’re on vacation, even if you’re not!

  25. I think having the patio doors and windows are a good investment. It can let the sunlight in and lighten up the house, and it surely brightens up your morning. Hope that it is double-glazed, so it would keep you warm when winter comes.

  26. I must say, they do add character to your house. I’m not usually impressed with bricks, other than the red ones, but the wooden doors did some magic to the whole façade. This clearly shows that wooden fixtures make a good finish to any architecture. I love the front door, by the way. It looks so solid, implying the fact that your home is tightly protected. :D

  27. Oh, I love the patio door. It’s wide, and you can perfectly see a clear, wide view of the outside. I can imagine myself sitting on your sofa while enjoying the fresh air coming in. We’re currently in the process of renovating the patio door, and I want to make it wider. I want to enjoy a better view of my garden with its blooming flowers. And this just might be the right patio door for me!

  28. Glass windows gives you the opportunity to have a better view of the beauty of nature. Also, it paves way for natural light to come in and give your house a lighter and livelier mood. I can sit by the window all day long and enjoy looking at the blue skies.

  30. Stylish doors and windows are good accent pieces to a home. However, both parts should be sturdy. It's security feature should also be updated.
