Comforting when things stay the same.

As you know, I have been extremely lax with my postings of late and have, I am afraid, been equally lax with my reading of the 70 odd blogs I follow. Life just sometimes gets in the way and I have been very preoccupied with other 'stuff' going on. When a future is uncertain and you can't quite see beyond next month, let alone next year, it is comforting to dip a tentative toe back into blogland and see that it all is still going on, just as it did. The posts about other peoples lives and still there, recipes and gardening tips are still being shared, dogs antics with lurid purple bones are still to be witnessed and all you lovely people are still commenting as if I had just popped out to the shops for half an hour. Thanks for that.
Comfort comes in the oddest of places.

  4. Hang on. Life is not meant to be easy, it is meant to be interesting. Without the dips we would not appreciate the high spots. Mortgages can be depressing when the work we do is short-term-contract-style. But keep smiling. Something will come along and you will be back to your usual positive self. Maybe a great love will arrive. Maybe a great job opportunity. Maybe a wonderful friend. You are a good person, a hard worker, a talented gardener and a fine blogger. Hang on.

  5. I can testify to that.....after far too long away from blogging I'm only now starting to dip my toe back in. Used to write as Murphyfish but now just plain John. But the kindness of people here is already apparent and very welcoming.

  6. It's like being home. With friends and family. Like was said above, 'we like you'! Simple! Take your time and take comfort in knowing we're all here, we aren't going anywhere.

  7. Very true. We all have to take knocks in life and that is what is so interesting about the human spirit. In general, we survive!

  9. Hi there
Just found your blog and am amazed to see that you are literally just down the road from where I live in Bacup. I am totally new to garden so hoping to find lots of tips from you in the hope that I too will have some success with the things you are able to grow here in Rossendale. I have spent the last couple of hours glued to reading your old posts and am now following. Will also take a good look at all the other blogs you have links to.

    1. Well hi there, I often wondered if anyone nearby would ever read my blog. Ask away, I am quite good in the garden, but no expert but can always help when I can.

  11. We all need a break now and again. Sometimes there's just too much going on to fit it all in, but anyone who has blogged for a while knows how it is.
