I've finished my arbour!
A friend of mine has nicknamed it the Moomin House, because it reminds him of the house from the cartoon I used to watch 30 years ago called the Moomins.
It just started raining as I finished it and it does exactly what I wanted it to - keeps me dry! It was very hard to construct by myself I must admit and should probably have tried to get someone to help me, but I perservered and am thrilled with the results.
I think it compliments the garden pretty well, I'm sure you will agree.
It's actually very sweet
ReplyDeleteI love it we remember the Moomins:-)
ReplyDeleteOh, a bit Japaneesy.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, especially as you can sit on either seat and view different parts of the garden.
ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWow ...that's fab :)
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely, just the place to go and sit and admire the garden with a coffee or glass of wine in hand.
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember the Moomins only too well, my eldest son was obsessed with them, he was about 3 at the time and called them the 'pippys' as he couldn't say Moomin. He had a little hippo sweatshirt that looked just like them and refused to take it off sometimes if he had just watched an episode. He wore that until it was so small for him he could barely move!!
What a truly lovely garden spot! God is blessing you with new talents and skills! No wonder why you have not be enable to post anything, for a long while! I missed you. From the other side of the pond. Sharon

ReplyDeleteIt looks excellent Dan, and welcome back!
ReplyDeleteI love it, so cute! Perfect for sitting in and having a glass of something, and enjoying your lovely garden!
ReplyDeleteWow! Well done.
ReplyDeleteWOW is right? Holy cow, is this a kit or did you design it and make it all up? It looks amazing. I want one!!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens, Dan. You did that on your own? Wow. Was that a kit? Or did you do it from scratch? It so professional. Love the paint colors, too. Pat yourself on the back. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI think that I need one of those... but here where I live there are so many spiders that I would spend my time cleaning webs (like i have to do around the house). But I like it so much, the roof especially.
ReplyDeleteVery intriguing; it would be wonderful to have an early morning cup of jo in there, watching the sunrise and the birds.
ReplyDeleteWow, you've done so well! It looks wonderful. I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labours. Well done on being so handy! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is just lovely.
ReplyDeletePerfect.
ReplyDeleteMust be absolutely glorious seeing the garden sitting on that bench with a cup of tea.

ReplyDeleteJust finished reading your blog. Amazing and very interesting. enjoyed every post. Jaycee
ReplyDeleteIt's really wonderful, well done!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is exquisite! Can't believe how beautiful it is; you obviously work very hard to maintain it so well. I struggle growing blubs!! Planted a load in May and only about 6 have appeared & 2 of those got slug-nibbled, typical!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful arbour, exquisite garden, you must be chuffed to bits!
Dan, are you alright? We've not heard hide nor hair of you for quite some time now. Hope everything is okay...
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well too. I've missed popping by to see what you're up to. Hope that you have just been too busy to post. Love Penny L in Dorsetxx
