Good news

Hello everyone,

Well now my new journey begins because I have accepted an offer on my flat! I had some tough decisions to make because it is quite a lot below the asking price, but after negotiating and doing my sums I am content with selling at that price. When all is said and done the market is shocking and I have only had one viewer in 5 months, so holding out for a better price could take who knows how long. The lady who is buying it is nice and is so excited about it, old softy that I am it really softens the blow.

It is strange because I am looking forward to this next stage in my life so much and am ready for it, but it is certainly coupled with a bit of unexpected sadness in letting go of my home - I know this must be a normal feeling, but getting everything in motion seems a tough task now. Also a bit of fear that what I am doing is now becoming a reality.

Anyway, enough for now, I have stuff to do!

  3. Oh Dan,that`s fantastic news!! You must be over the moon. Keep focust on where you`re headded.
Make propper plans and don`t forget to pack important things. Your mixed feelings are quite
normal. A little fear of the unknown sharpens your senses. You`ll get there and will love it in the end!!!

  4. I am over the moon, now I hope to get the cottage in Lancashire, I have such good plans for it's renovation, even though it will probably take me years to do. Then all my frugal living training will become a necessity!

  8. Brilliant - so happy for you. Nothing worse than being ready to change and to be held back. Now you can steam forward with your future :)

Property sales - they're the same world wide - everyone is battling to sell - us too. Guess it'll happen when it happens...

"To everything, turn, turn turn, there is a season, turn, turn, turn..." - LOL, I'm showing my age

  9. Good luck with your move! It is a strange thing that as soon as you sell your house, you appreciate it so much more than all the times you lived in it!

  14. Thank you all. It certainly is possible that I am may be moved by Christmas - not too close to Christmas though I hope, because it is always a nightmare getting anything done that week! I am waiting to go for my second viewing of the cottage, but I can't get back up North for 2 weeks, so it is a bit frustrating, thinking someone else could swoop in before me! Mind you, with the market as it is, it is fairly unlikely and the agent knows that I am interested.
Anyway, I will keep you all posted.

  16. AMAZING NEWS...AND DON'T WORRY!

We also accepted a lower price on our previous house because we could still afford our cottage and wanted to pursue our dream and not lose it!

GO FOR IT! Can't wait to hear about the cottage!
